Ronde van Vlaanderen 2003, 253 km

Using the extraordinary variant of RVV, recently made by Leon, I have made a traditional version of Ronde for PCM 2015. In particular, I chose the 2003 route, because much of it has already been decorated.

As I had the zcts of RVV open, I created another variant, finishing in Zottegem. It is more cobbles heavy in the last part of the race, but the middle part has some nasty hills too, like Fortuinberg, Scherpenberg (south side of Hotond) or Knokteberg.

Sure as hell hope not, it will be impossible to handle and convert to pcm15 or pcm14.
But I still trying to find the issue why this is so much harder from pcm16, then it was converting pcm15 to pcm14.

One thing for sure is when using wallhouse new thing of selecting villages, but it has something more that I haven't found yet.

Pour ceux qui ont PCM 2016 et qui ne parlent pas trop anglais : quelqu'un voit-il une grosse différence entre le SE 2015 et le 2016 ? Excepté le nouveau spawn wallhouses ?

I suppose most folks like to buy new games and just think "f_ck the old one". I bloody pity but that's life. My idea is just I think it's a shame on many old creations, but I guess few would care.


I just getting too old I think, but it's fun to relax and play a little. Buying new versions every year isn't my-cop-of-tea. The very little things Cyanide do in each version doesn't seem to be enough for upgrading. The game have a lot of other stuff they could concentrate on adding and improving. Then, this company is miles behind many of the bigger ones with a lot better programmers.
(Some of their solutions are damn embarrissing)

But one has to take what one gets ....

I agree with you, and i still have difficulties to understand the policy of Focus about what communities ask.

Regarding the compatibility of stages, they defended themselves by arguing that playing a race made by an older PCM could make some bugs appearing and they prefer sacrifice old stages made by communities.

Of course they got an answer that is perfect for them.
However they might not explain this.

I opened a very simple stage made in pcm15. No wallhouse only autocity and just a forest_03. Simple as hell.
I opened this stage in pcm16 editor and of course it worked. Then I saved it !!!! Without doing anything.
When I tried to open it again in pcm15 (where it was made) IT CRASHED.

My investigation that it's some new parameters added (perhaps more than wallhouse/village) that is of course the culprit. The issue with new IBs, fences and even some trees and forests (forest_04 and undergrowth_04 was added for fields and forest) doesn't play any part. Well some, but those one could edit like I did with pcm14. Some XML editing and adding the new stuff.
This new is completely impossible to fix. :cry: If it's saved in pcm16 then it's Ebola tainted and dead for all old versions :angel

So even seing that the old Leon40 RVV-zcts was used I spotted a couple of new roads and villages. The area around the start is newly added. Hence the whole race has to be re-done adding those to the original zcts file. I fear that is beyond me.

So I hope not too many great creators pop over to pcm16 when they create some vital missing races.
But then I don't believe in Trolls either. :wtf

I'm not even mentioning the case with those changed graphic stuff , maillot and such. Funny they didn't messed up frames and helmets too. Clean sweep. Away with the old.... :stop

ZODC Zuidenveld Tour 2016

A race near the Dutch-German border, utilising some of the cobbled paths in Drenthe. The toughest parts are between km 50 and 100, after that the cobbles are very mild. As a result, the race is very unpredictable and can be won in a multitude of ways, of course depending on the wind strength and direction too. However, without human player intervention, it seems like it will be mostly won by the morning breakaway in PCM. The peloton usually lacks the numbers and strong domestiques (it is a 1.2 race) to pull it back after having dealt with the most difficult cobbled sectors.
