ZCTS + Stages by Genki

Hi!
I may be new on here, but I've been creating stages some time before. But I never published them before. That has changed. After I've finished a big Drenthe zcts, I decided to publish it. It took me months, maybe years, to complete. During this build, I figured out its really fun to really take some time on decorating.

I create everything on Stage Editor 2020.

All downloads are included with zcts.

Random World Championships

I also create random World Championships variants. I use an Excel-file which contains a bit over of 147.000 towns. It randomizes a town for me, and then I'll make a small World Championship in it. I first check if a circuit is possible, and I don't create ones on cities of which there already is a zcts, so I skip most French, Spanish and Italian cities. I do use some auto villages for these zcts. Therefore it's not as detailed as the zcts-projects I make.

Drenthe ZCTS + World Championships Variant

Drenthe: the province of my home. I've started building this ZCTS a long time ago, probably more then a year, or even more ago. I can't even remember. At first it was crap, full of autocities, autovillages and only the major roads. But time by time I decorated it more and more. I added way more streets.

I removed all autocities and autovillages, and used my own experience from places and Google Maps/Streetview to decorate villages properly. I reworked a lot of places to make it look better. For example: the TT Circuit got multiple make-overs. Fields and forests were replaced and added based on GPS.

I kept expanding the ZCTS after the complete province was full. Cities nearby were added, and after I finished the city of Groningen I decided it's time to publish. I will most likely extend it even more in the future, or maybe change things. And maybe Drenthe gets awarded the World Championships in 2032, together with the province of Groningen. Then it's a good reason to also include the province of Groningen as well on this file. (although it already takes way to long already to export a stage :D)

I made a World Championships Variant out of it. I will also create some stage races out of it in the (near) future.

The ZCTS includes:
  • 21060 objects.
  • 196 cities and towns. All of them have been named on the zcts.
  • 50 cobbled roads, including working gravel and sandroads for PCM 2020+. All of them have been labeled and rated on the zcts.
  • 5 cols. Yeah, Drenthe is flat. But we do have Col du Vam, famous for the European Championships in 2023. Other 'climbs' are Bisschopsberg, Eiderberg, Muur van Emmen and Woldberg.
  • 3 football stadiums. Only 1 in Drenthe: De Oude Meerdijk of FC Emmen. The other ones are Euroborg of FC Groningen and MAC³PARK Stadion of PEC Zwolle.
  • 2 airports. We have 1 proper airport in Drenthe. And its officially called Groningen Airport Eelde. Apart from that Vliegveld Hoogeveen is also added, but it exists of only one grass roadway
The biggest cities in the ZCTS:
  • Groningen (province Groningen) -> a bit over 200.000 population, sixth largest city of the Netherlands.
  • Zwolle (province Zwolle) -> around 120.000 population.
  • Assen (capital of Drenthe) -> around 67.000 population.
  • Emmen -> almost 60.000 population.
  • Hoogeveen -> around 40.000 population.
  • Meppel -> a bit over 30.000 population.
  • Stadskanaal (province Groningen) -> almost 20.000 population.
  • Steenwijk -> around 17.500 population.
  • Coevorden -> around 15.000 population.
  • Roden -> almost 15.000 population.

Paris - Roubaix, Drenthe variant

A Dutch variant for Paris - Roubaix. Hosted in Drenthe, this course goes over 18 cobbled sectors. It's not as hard as the traditional one, with only a single 5-star rated cobbled sector, and two of 4 stars. Yet, you can experience some of Drenthe finest cobbled roads.

Made as final testing stage before publishing the complete ZCTS.
The start is in Groningen, the capital of the province Groningen, just north from Drenthe. The finish is at De Oude Meerdijk, the football stadium of FC Emmen.

Because it was published during test phase, the ZCTS is not included in this file since it was not completely finished yet

Aruba ZCTS + World Championships variant

After Drenthe was complete, it was time for something else. It became an island: Aruba. Two good reasons: It's giving me a limit, since it's an island. I can't keep expanding it. Other reason is I once made a Curaçao zcts, but it's really simple and ugly. And before redecorating Curaçao, I first gave Aruba a try, purely based on Google Maps/Streetview.

Made on Stage Editor 2020. Complete island is done in the zcts.

Random World Championships: Pelileo

The first random city that popped up to create a World Championships variant is Pelileo, in Ecuador.

I spend less time on these Random World Championships then on my ZCTS-projects, so these include more auto-villages. I just use create them for fun, and for some extra variants to have.

During research on Google Streetview I found a really steep cobbled road up a mountain. That is included in the zcts-file, but is not included in this WC-race.

Random World Championships: Martuni

Near Lake Sevan, the largest body of water in Armenia, is Martuni located. The host of another random World Championships variant.
Not much special decoration on this one. Only the center of the town has been decorated by hand. The rest is mainly auto-village, forests or fields.

Dwars door Drenthe 2012, 2014, 2015

In 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2015 a race called 'Dwars door Drenthe' was held in Drenthe. It was categorised as 1.1 race, and was part of the European Tour. The course was held a day prior or a day after the 'Ronde van Drenthe', which was also part of the European Tour, and the women version of Ronde van Drenthe was even World Tour.

I recreated the editions of 2012, 2014 and 2015 with my Drenthe-file, as there was an official routebook somewhere. Basically every edition made about 3 laps on the Col du Vam, which was simply called Vamberg back then. I could not find the official route of 2010, so that's the only edition that I have not been able to create.

In 2025 a new race called 'Dorpenomloop Dwars door Drenthe' was added to the national calender, which crossed Drenthe way more and went over more cobbled sectors and of course the Col du Vam. This race is not part of the UCI-calender however.

2 sidenotes:
- Not all the roads of the parcours are in my Drenthe ZCTS. But I guess like 95-99% of the roads of the official route are. Most of the roads missing are small roads or even bike lanes, or they are like really close/parallel to existing ones. I did not bother to add them.
- These races were held before the new Col du Vam was made, so at that time the cobbled variant did not exist yet and to add the higher Col du Vam part was not even being considered back then.

Dorpenomloop Dwars door Drenthe 2025 & 2026

Image

The very first race of the national calender is Dorpenomloop Dwars door Drenthe. Last year this race made it's inaugural version. This race is also called DDDD.

The route crosses many municipality in Drenthe and the riders have to ride over multiple cobbled sectors. Also included is one passage of the Col du Vam, from its steepest side.

It's a national race and its hosted by the same organisation that also handled the European Championships 2023 at Col du Vam, the Olympia's Tour, Simac Ladies Tour, Betcity Elfstedenrace and Slag om Norg.

Roy Hoogendoorn, who is currently trainee at Picnic Post NL, won the races in 2025 and 2026.

Small note: I had to make one extra loop in the final circuit of 2025 and some small roads/bicycle paths aren't included.

Aruba National Championships 2026

Image

Officially it's called Aruba Road National Open, and everyone can participate. But only riders with a valid Aruba Cycling Federation membership, who are at least a legal resident of Aruba (or born here, or at least one parent was born in Aruba) and holds the Dutch nationality, can receive the title of Aruba National Champion and wear the National Champion jersey.

The road race will be held on September 20. The elite men ride 12 laps in Noord, with a total of 72.48 kilometers. Elite women ride 6 laps, for a total of 36.24 kilometers.

The time trial was supposed to be held on September 6, but it's delayed to October 25. The Aruba Cycling Federation stated: "This change is due to another major event taking place on the same day, which meant the permit needed to ensure full road safety could not be obtained." Officially the time trial is called Aruba TT National Open, and just like the road race is open to everyone to ride. Elite men ride 3 laps near Savatena for a total of 29.25 kilometers. The elite women ride 2 laps for a total of 19.5 kilometers.
The route for the time trial in game differs from the real, since the official route is back and forth on the same road.

Since the race is open to everyone, you could also change this race in PCM to a classic race
