GpxToXmlTool

Messagepar Max Power » 09 Sep 2019, 20:34

Hi, I'm from the italian community.

I made this tool that can be create a road by a simple gpx file. It can create a realistic stage in few minutes and it's easy to use.
It was ispired spiritually by the old impish's GPStoXML_kickers, it can create a stage to pcm09 and older by a simple gpx file. Unfortunately it can work with pcm 10 and newests. I dreamed for years a tool that can be replace it. I had the idea in 2016, and i had working for two years. It's a 'naif' work, but it works fine. After one year of tests, it's depandable and precise.
It's compatible with pcm 15 and newest. There is a version specific with pcm 11 and 12.
It works only with microsoft excel :(

GpxToXmlTool 1.3.4 (11/09/2019) :

As a result click to 'Calc' to create xml file. Import this file to stage editor, File - Import a road network. Close excel page before import xml file to stage editor.

Other tool:
Smooth height filter height of road points by a range, for example 400m.

Very useful indeed, I'll try it out soon. Anyways there must be some drawbacks, notably for cobbled races, but that is anecdotal.

Tutorial: How to make more roads from a single gpx file.

Gpx files from site like leflammeorouge are very confortable, but In certain cases are needed more roads, for example cobblestone sectors, roads with different wide, circuits, crossroads ecc.
For example the Driedaagse Brugge-De Panne:
Image

Import the gpx file and click to 'Data':
Image

The first cobbestone sector start in 23,4km. Scroll below 'Distot' column until 23,4 and cut all below it:

and paste in a new excel page:
Image

Now you have to click to 'Calc' to create teh first 23,4km and save it with a name like 'depanne01'. Close and open Gpstoxmltool excel page and, cut and paste the 1,1km of first cobblestone sector below 'Lat' column:

Then press to 'Calc' to create the second road, and name it like 'depanne02'.
Repeat the procedure for any road you desire, and import any xml file to stage editor:

Nope, this error : "System Error &H80041020 (-2147217376)"

Edit : This only works for LFR tracks, Cronoescalada tracks work just fine for example
